Friday 11th May at 7:30 pm at Whittington Village Hall – £3.00, with all proceeds going to Whittington Village Hall
During a six week visit to Sri Lanka earlier this year I tried to trace my father’s time there during World War II through a series of old black and white photos and postcards.
Throughout that journey Virginia and I explored the country’s wildlife sanctuaries, cave temples, ancient monuments, tea plantations, colonial heritage, war graves and (of course) its beaches. We met survivors of the 2004 Tsunami and the 25 year civil war that raged in that country.
I hope this talk will give a good insight in to Sri Lanka’s cultural history, wildlife and visitor attractions. Failing that there should be some artistic merit in some of the photography.
It would be great if you could make it to this fundraiser for the village hall. If you are likely to come could you let me know (it will help to decide how many seats to put out) by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
