World War One Centenary

On the 11th November, at 7pm, by kind permission of Steve and Karen Metcalf, a beacon will be lit to commemorate the ending of World War One 100 years ago.

The beacon will be one of over two thousand, to be lit simultaneously across the country. Our previous two beacons were recognised as the brightest in the Lune Valley, so this should be a real spectacle.

In addition to the Beacon, there will be a barbecue, raffle, and free bar at Sellet Hall, with proceeds or donations possibly going to ‘Help the Heroes’.
